Back to Back 🏆. Were in Sicily with the @hgpcaofficial and @historicformulajunior. Katsu qualified 6th overall and first in class in James Hagans Lotus 18 due to gearbox problems in his 24. Cars all set ready for race day here in Monte Carlo. James in the 18 qualified 12th for race B while Katsu in the 24 will start 13th. The team worked miracles by flying our gearbox parts from the UK and with the help from @pdsracing were up and ready to go. The 72 will start from the front row in P2 again all repaired after our incident with the wall. The James Hunt Hesketh will start 14th which the Lec also lines up in P14. The race In question was a 40 lap non championship event where Jochen Mass finished second and Jean-Pierre Jarier third. A lot of work in these, this is a nosebox we made for a Mclaren Mp4/1. All the swages and holes were all knocked over and formed by hand. Coated prior to solid riveting and glueing to match the period original box we had to copy. First of our races complete today in the Lotus 30. Katsu had a fantastic race and unfortunately on the last corner of the last lap the engine failed. Some things aren't meant to be! Still we started 10th and were due to finish 7th so car and driver both had pace. We also stretched the legs of the 72 in the demo. 5 cars, 4 drivers, 2 engine changes, and 1 outstanding team. @silverstonefestival was a tough event having the odds against us in 2 unavoidable engine failures on track with debris through the radiator of the junior causing it to seize then an unfortunate spin and over rev in James's Lotus 18 put us on the back foot, just a quick 6 hour trip to collect spares from other cars saw us out again. It didn't stop there with metering unit issues causing the tyrrell of @kyle_tilley to have an intermittent problem stopping us from achieving the results we deserved having the pace we did. The guys really pulled out the stops to keep the cars running on track. Couldn't have made any of it happen without the people we had around us that weekend. Even on low sleep and long days, we still came away laughing. Outstanding result from the team in Pau today. After finishing the race yesterday in third we transformed that today into a win overall with the fastest racing lap. We were running third and with a great strategy call and a fast pit stop Katsu emerged from the pits leading the race. A lead we managed to hold onto until the chequered flag.
